I am a Namibian and matriculated in 1996 from Academia Secondary School in Windhoek. Since then, I qualified from the University of Stellenbosch as a medical doctor, then as psychiatrist and worked as senior specialist and lecturer at Stikland Hospital and Stellenbosch University. We returned at the end of 2014 to Namibia, where I opened a private practice at Lady Pohamba Private Hospital in Windhoek. In 2020, I obtained a PhD in Psychiatry at Stellenbosch University. My research examined the factors that influence the bonding between a mother and her infant. I have a keen interest in maternal and infant mental health as well as special populations (children, teenagers, elderly).
